George C. Scott plays a religious man turned detective in order to find his teenage daughter that's disappeared in California. After getting getting nowhere he realizes he must go undercover as a sleazy pornographer he navigates the world of adult films to uncover the truth her disappearance. The film also features Peter Boyle as the inept detective. Not Paul Schrader 's best but certainly worth a second watch.
