One of the worst films I have seen in a long time. Everything from the animated version is dumbed down, and the most character-driven Disney princess turns into a Mary Sue. Her soldier friends have no personality whatsoever, as well as the captain, who threatens to kill Mulan when she reveals herself as a woman but then minutes later allows her to lead the charge of the final battle. Even though Mulan 1998's villain wasn't complicated, at least he was threatening and honorable, but here, Bori-Khan is just one-dimensionally evil and boring. Nothing in this film feels satisfactory or anything of the sort. This should've been the realistic version, so I was fine with no music or Mushu, but it brought a bird-lady and a phoenix. Just horrible.
