Every actor in the film absolutely disappears into their roles. It took me 5 minutes to even recognize Ethan Hawke.

This movie seems like Lion King, but Rated R and on crack. Apart from that, it's an amazing movie. It could honestly be argued as being Eggers' best

Funny that you say that, because much had been made of The Lion King being Hamlet and my friend observed during The Northman that it’s also Hamlet. I got curious and just Googled it; turns out there’s an old Norse legend about a guy named Amleth who is actually the predecessor/inspiration of Hamlet. I never knew!
